From my understanding:

1. Greywing X Full Body Greywing = Greywings and Full Body Greywings.
2. Clearwing X Full Body Greywing = Clearwings and Full Body Greywings.
3. Clearwing X Greywing = Full Body Greywings
4. Full Body Greywing X Dilute = Clearwings and Greywings

These are the options I'm looking at from my pairing, but I've got some variation in markings and body colour in 6 chicks from the clutch. From what I see, there are all 3 of Greywing, Clearwings and Full Body Greywings in the clutch...but that isn't supposed to happen and something is always left out of the puzzle.

Parents:

1. Dad is either a Full Body Greywing or a badly marked Clearwing.
2. Mom is either a Cinnamon Greywing, a Cinnamon Dilute or a Dilute. There's no question of mum being a Clearwing as she's almost white (severe dilution).

Here are the chicks, and what I think they are.

1. Ureshii - Greywing Skyblue.
Her stripes have a dark shade of grey and appears to have diluted body colour and cheek patches (if she's a full Body Greywing then it would solve the puzzle I guess).

2. Akira & Ocean - Yellowface 2 Clearwing Violets (or Skyviolets, not sure).
The stripes are faint...body colour appears bright, so do their cheek patches.

Ureshii and Akira side by side, comparison of the marking's depth of colour.

3. Willow - Clearwing Skyblue
Pale markings and bright body colour.

4. Clover - Full Body Greywing Violet (if not then a badly marked Clearwing, but then mum would have to be a Clearwing which is very unlikely).

Dark stripes + bright body colour. Somewhat like his dad was.

5. Ushio - Greywing or Full Body Greywing Yellowface 2 Mauve
Not sure about the body colour intensity but the stripes are dark.

If mum is a Greywing, there can't be any Clearwing chicks but I think there are 3 Clearwings.
If there are Full Body Greywing chicks, like I think there are (2) then mum must be a Greywing instead of a Dilute.
If there is a Greywing chick then mum could be a Dilute or a Greywing...

Where am I missing the point? I'd like it to be pointed out :(

It's not possible to have all three from a FBC X dilute. If he is a clearwing, you'd only get clearwings and dilutes. If he is a FBC greywing, you should get greywings and clearwings. I think the cinnamon from mom is messing with the lightness or heaviness of your chicks' markings - causing variance.

Makes sense. I have always wondered if the dad is Cinnamon or Split Cinnamon, he has a slight browning on his stripes in a specific area, I was told it was a fault.

But then again all the chicks had black eyes, no plum.

Just when I thought breeding the hen would help me figure out what she is. LOL

I'm not saying any of the chicks are cinnamon, just that having a copy of the cinnamon gene can mess with the depth of the wing markings in a greywing series bird...

A full body greywing mated to a dilute would produce greywings and clearwings' which is what your chicks appear to be

Although the hen looks like a dilute if she actually is a cinnamon greywing split for dilute it would be possible to get some full body greywing chicks (clearwing gene from the dad and a greywing from the hen) as well as greywings and clearwings

All have feathered up now

It seems that there are Full Body Greywings and Clearwings now....except the 1st chick, who appears to be a Greywing to me...but have a look. If she's a FBC Greywing then that should solve all the confusion.

Full Body Greywing Skyblue?

Clearwing YF2 Cobalt?

Clearwing YF2 Cobalt?

Clearwing Skyblue?

Full Body Greywing Violet?

Full Body Greywing Mauve? (or grey??? cheek patch confuses me)

If they are what I think they are, and mum is a Cinnamon Greywing and dad is a Full Body Greywing...so Clearwing+Greywing will produce FBC Greywings...but then what about the Clearwing chicks?

If mum is a Dilute or Cinnamon Dilute, then there should be Greywings and Clearwings...but the 4th chick has dark grey stripes and a bright body colour.

The presence of a Full Body Greywing would indicate mum is not a Dilute.

Full body greywing **** mated to a cinnamon greywing split for dilute hen you could get

Clearwing (clearwing gene from dad & dilute gene from mum)

Greywing (greywing gene from dad & dilute gene from mum)

Full body greywing (clearwing gene from dad greywing gene from mum)

Greywing double factor (greywing gene from each parent)
