I recently posted on the budgie behaviour forum because my budgie has become totally silent and very clingy with me. The consensus was that he was probably depressed and needed a little friend.
Over the last couple of days I've been doing experiments with little Sky. Clapping my hands when he can't see me, ringing bells. No response whatsoever. Even the vacuum cleaner which he normally hates. No reaction.
The last time my friend looked after him when I was away, he didn't interact with her budgie where normally they would play together.
It would explain the change in his behaviour. What do you think? If he is deaf getting another budgie probably wouldn't be a good idea do you think?
