Hi I read on here and of course can't find it, that as a budgie ages you can tell if it's a double factor spangle or a dark eyed clear. (If you don't know parentage.) I believe Nev had made this comment. Does anyone know?

I think I remember reading that as well, I think xxloverxx may have prompted the response as she was asking about her budgie Tuyet who she thinks is a DF spangle...

Yes you can :)
A DF spangle will develop iris rings with age while a dark eyed clear will have plum eyes even as an adult :)

Yes, the eyes are the distinguishing feature.

DF Spangle has dark eyes with a white iris ring in adults.
DEC has dark and solid coloured eyes without a light iris ring.

Parentage : DF Spangle is bred with a pair of spangles (**** and hen)
Parentage : DEC is bred with clearflight split for recess. pied with a recessive pied.
