According to www.***************

this is the genetics of a clear flight pied

Summary:
Clearflight Pied - dominant
Normal - recessive

The inheritance pattern of clearflight pied is the same as dominant pied. However, clearflight pied is unrelated to either dominant pied or recessive pied, and a budgie can have any combination of the three pieds at the same time. There are only two alleles for clearflight pied: the normal gene and the clearflight pied gene. The clearflight pied gene is completely dominant to the recessive normal gene. This means that a single-factor clearflight pied looks the same as the double-factor clearflight pied
And this is the genetics of a Dominate Pied

Summary:
Dominant Pied - dominant
Normal - recessive

There are only two alleles for dominant pied: the normal gene and the dominant pied gene. The dominant pied gene is semi-dominant to the recessive normal gene. This means that a single-factor dominant pied looks different from the double-factor dominant pied. A single-factor dominant pied, the classic dominant pied, usually has the standard markings with the band across the tummy and bottom of the wings. A double-factor dominant pied's clear areas are extended, leaving a budgie with more clear areas than those that are left normally marked
now what I've noticed between the 2 is this

Dominate Pieds wing markings do not cover their entire wings *See Pic*

With a Clear Flight Pied - the markings go down a bit further but in both the flight feathers have NO markings BUT the clear flight pied has NO band * See pic *

Now on to my Question

Jasper - Son of Shadow (Grey Spangle Split Opaline and Albino Male & Casper Albino Masking Pied Female )

His wing markings Go down as far as a Clear Flight Pieds does With the flight feathers being pure white no markings BUT he has the Band across his stomach of the Dominate Pied
So Does This make Jasper Both Clear Flight Pied and Dominate Pied ? Since under the genetic of Clear flight Pied it states they can carry all 3 pieds at the same time (i'm assuming if they can carry all 3 at the same time then they can also carry any 2 combination's at the same time)

Here is Jasper (Sky blue opaline PIED of some sort)

and another front view

So what Pied is Jasper? And where did he get them (or) it from Mom or dad or both?

heck if I should know. Dollar is supposedly a clearflight pied but I keep getting dominant pied chicks from him and he doesn't even have a band.
hehe maybe the mom is the dominate pied? not sure what her mutation is BUT jasper s mom is a Albino and since albino is also a dominate gene she was masking the pied (i'm still assuming it came from her)

I like surprises with my babies don't get me wrong , but once they're able to tell their mutation correctly I have to know Or else my records will all be messed up ..... Plus I like to call them the proper name not just "um ya some sort of pied" lol and I am just nosy like that to top it all off :p

I think the possibilites of Jasper being both Clearflight and Dominant is pretty high. :)

But, it could just be coincidence that the two Dominant Pieds in the provided photo happen to have less markings. I'm not sure on this.

Tweety's wings match the dominate pied on the picture i posted His daughter hope how ever has even less markings then he does So She's the next one for me to figure out but I was having a very hard time getting pictures of them today they were all coming out dark

sad thing is they are in front of a window - it was day light, Plus i had a light on and i was using flash LOL and there were about 10 pics i had to delete because they were so dark I couldn't tell who was in them Even after I tried lightening them up

But I am seriously leaning towards Jasper being both clear flight and dom pied but then I am back to Square one... Where'd the clear flight come from lol

nope. Cloud is an Albino. Her dad was also an Albino, and her mom was a Cobalt Greywing Clearflight Pied (in other words she's an Albino/Cobalt Greywing Clearflight Pied) and as far as I know she can't get it from her grandfather or grandmother on her fathers side because the female would have to be albino and the father would have to have been either albino or split albino for her father to have born (pretty sure thats it anyway... albinos are sex linked. correct me if Im wrong) it might have come from her mother's side though because I don't know what her parents would have been....

anyway, I think Jasper is Clearflight Pied as well as Dom. Pied

I think he is an opaline dominant pied. If he had two pied mutations he would have a lot less markings and coloured areas. The two pied mutations have a very similar wing pattern and both have the clear patch on their heads but only the dominant pied has the band across the front. He looks a bit different because he is opaline as well as dominant pied

He looks a ton like Cindy Loo Who except she is not opaline and has less white on the belly. She is a clearflight to my knowledge. Hey! That means we found a twin for the other thread :)

weird thing is as in tiels the pied amount can vary greatly.. so maybe he´s a regular dominant pied with a lil less pied than those of the pic you posted
