Hello,

I've read on this forum that grains such as oat groats and barley are especially high in protein and should be fed to budgies sparingly in case too much protein will be too taxing on their reproductive organs and might cause health issues.

So how about sprouted oat groats and barley? Would they be healthier instead? Can I feed them more than the regular?

My understanding is that sprouts have less fat, but I'm getting mixed information on protein levels.

All in all, the situation is this: I have a bunch of sprouted barley and oats in the refrigerator and I don't want them to go to waste.

If any body who has some knowledge about sprouting can help me that would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Sincerely,

James
