Sorry for your loss of Kkojib. It is very suspicious that Kkojib became ill so soon after the introduction to Bella. However a bird can harbor the organism without becoming ill and can then become ill from it if the immune system is compromised by something else, even a stress related incident, so it is also possible that Kkojib had the organism and something made it flare up. Unfortunately it cannot always be determined if a bird has AGY because it is not always actively shed so even if you test the droppings there may not be evidence of its presence. Either way, you now have the possibility that Bella has it, possibly she did when you acquired her, or now, may have picked it up from Kkojib. I would have Bella examined by the vet and at least have a gram stain done on the droppings to see if anything abnormal shows, although as I indicted a clear sample does not mean she does not have AGY. I have had 2 birds with AGY and thankfully it did not pass to my other birds, in one case the organism never showed on a fecal test, only in necropsy results.
