I took Remy to the park in her travel cage while it was sunny today :) She seemed to really enjoy it. And it meant she could screech to her little heart's content and I wouldn't have to worry about the neighbours in the apartment building

Awww, look at her! She looks so excited to be outside! And I love the little loop-dee-loop she did around her perch. Toooo cute! :giggle: She sounds so different than my budgies. I always find it interesting listening to other people's budgies chirping and making noises since they often have different pitches and sounds. :p

Yeah, I think we've established that as one of her happy noises. It was great to see her calling at the birds in the area! I think I might have to take her outside more often. The Vit D will do us both a world of good. I also picked up a couple of sticks for perches, so that was a bonus :p

Indeed Kim.. i think some of the reason other people budgies have different pitches and sounds is mostly because of the other birds in the country.

For example england doesn't have all the same type of birds that america has because the climate is completely wrong.. like its too cold here even in our summer for them does that make sense? no idea if its anywhere near true tho lol.

But i know what you mean, my Ares is very different sounding to Freki and Rhea hehe

I'd love to take mine around the park but i'd be so scared of the door popping open and them flying away :(

Remy is absolutely loving it! :D

Thankfully Remy can't get out of the little cage unless I open the door :) It clips in the top of the cage. I bought it as her travel cage. It's handy when we go and visit my parents, or go to the vet (200 metres from my house! Handy).

I've noticed that her vocalisations are pretty different from other budgies. I was wondering why that was :)

i like to think of it like a birdie accent... just like humans do from where they come from lol

They don't think they have an accent cos their accent is normal to them... but clearly they do haha :p

Sure! I got it from Queen Victoria Market here in Melbourne... I think that's a bit far for you though :p I think you can find some in any pet store. They also double as hamster/guinea pig cages! As for the perch, I bought a packet of plastic perches, cut one down to size, and used the end bits on the new shorter perch.
