The pictures are not too clear but it looks like scaly face mites from what I can see.

It does progress but waiting until next Wednesday should be ok it should not be too much worse by then. It is most commonly treated with Ivermectin which can be a topical treatment or injectable and sometimes the bird will need more than one treatment a couple weeks apart. Is it an avian vet that you will be seeing?
