This is my almost 3 week old male chick from a white series lacewing male and a normal light green hen.

I've learned to trust the opinions of some TB members and Amelia is certainly one of them, but I would like to see this bird when he has feathered up! Holding thumbs that it is a violet - I take it that you like violet?

Hi,

Cobalt mated to violet dark green should produce violet as well as other dark factors. I keep a lot of violet dark green for breeding.

Blessings,

Gorgeous chicks!

Take a picture of the possibly violet one next to either a skyblue bird or a skyblue coloured piece of paper or background, this tends to help the violet show better ;)

Haven't been able to take a photo
Of him next to my sky bird (or something that color).

I noticed today he has some green coloring to his flights. Is this normal? Is it technically opalescence?

Hi, Cute chick!!! If you are still looking for show cages, Maureen just sold a bunch at the last show, but I think she has a few left. Contact her soon.
Enjoy those babies. That first violet is a real joy. Keep up the good work.

Blessings,
