One of my budgies maxi had an egg laying cycle about a month ago and now it has started again. She doesn't produce any fertile eggs and gives eggs without mating. Is this normal for her health. By God's grace she is very healthy but is this monthly egg laying healthy for her in the long term? And for context I haven't put any nest making things in the cage.

It is not uncommon to have a budgie that does this, it is not good and can lead to other problems. Constant egg laying depletes calcium, and there is a risk of egg binding and cloacal prolapse both are emergency situations should they happen. Does Maxi live with other birds? How many budgies do you have and are they mixed genders?
Is Maxi housed in with other budgies?

Cody has provided you with very good information.

Please do everything you can to prevent her from laying.

Rearranging their cage frequently will help tremendously.
Please be sure you never put a nest box or anything that could be used as a nesting site in their cage.
When they come into condition, you need to limit the light they get to 8 hours a day and limit the amount of protein in their diet.

Not to disappoint other budgie owners, but I have the cutest, sweetest little bird in the world!

Because I'm terrified of chronic egg laying or possible egg binding, I've replaced even ten larger food dishes, that might be seen as a nesting area, with small covered dishes.

The small size only allows her little head to fit in. Plus the cover prevents poops from above from dropping in!

Thanks for the advice, I will look into it. And yes the reason why I started this discussion was because of the egg binding problem only.

I'm glad you have them separated by gender.

Do you have the males' cage in a different room from the females?
How is Maxi doing now?
Has she laid any additional eggs?

Yes she is doing fine now and has stopped laying eggs. I followed your advice of removing the eggs as soon as she laid them so that she doesn't sit on them.
