For my birds I buy the Roudybush Daily Maintenance pellets. I would buy the 3lbs bag. To store it I would keep the pellets in its original bag, and put it within two more bags. I would put that inside of a very very high drawer.

I recently purchased 25lbs (hasn't arrived yet) and I would like to know if there are any special measures I should take when storing such a large amount of food.

You must have a lot of birds if you bought that much food.
Make sure to check the expir date.
I'd contact Roudybush and ask them for a suggestion how to properly store their pellets but make sure to let them know how long approx you will need to store this food.

If you have a large freezer, you can store the food in the freezer.
Otherwise, put it into airtight containers, such as the Rubbermade brand.
If you are storing it where there is a chance of rodents infestation, then put the plastic containers into a heavy duty metal container as well.
