I want MORE!!!

3990 Views 20 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  KathyP
It is so very good that I do not have another cage for a quarantine cage right now. The more I read...the more I want....the more I learn..the more I want more to work with differently from the start. The more pictures I see of all these stunning babies the more I want babies. Good thing mine are not old enough..I know I have so much more to learn before I even think of going there. I want an Aviary that is HUGE...I want plants in it....I want branches in it...I have an empty bedroom that is calling me!!....I keep telling myself no no no....not yet....learn more....watch more....read more....learn from others more. Ever since I was little and was able to sit and watch my grandma's birds I have wanted a walk in Aviary (she had one). Now this is all bringing those feelings back. I think I need a 12 step program!!

I agree with Deborah on this Kathy, and if you break down and get more bird's, you can alway's count on being welcomed here....

Randy,
I knew I could count on you to post the link to "that other forum on the 'Dark Side'" I agree that was not enabling since you were simply providing the link on where to go if one FAILS in the Support Group.

:decision:  :fencing:

It's always helpful to blame it on someone else, right?
(Even though now the choices are your own. :giggle:)

I think your dream is a wonderful one and when the time is right for making it happen,
I will be up front as one of your staunch supporters.
Until then, I will do my best to help you RESIST that  evil temptation! :fencing:

I don't understand why people can't control themselves?!!! Why people need a help group?!!! It's very simple to have just one or two budgies. It's not like they slowly take over. It's not like one little budgie turns into 8 over the following months.
It's not like you go and buy one little tiny pet bird and before you know, you have a wall full of cages and birds happily chirping away!

Get a grip, people! ;)

LOL I think someone might be in denial there....cough ...cough...Therm...cough

Welllll, I just went to PetSmart....ya know just to look... To my amazement there wasnt one I wanted...so I asked the clerk when they were getting more in...bad news...they are in...sitting in the back..making sure they are not sick. I asked her what kinds...LOL I loved her answer...well there are 4 fancy ones, 4 green ones and 4 blue ones. I smiled to myself....alrighty then. I think I need a job at PetSmart.

Knowledge is Power. I know what type of budgie I want next. I will not settle unless I have the right one. You all have taught me well, I thank you for that!

One day I will have my bird room....when the time is right...lol (gotta finish my Kitchen first!!)

Oh, Kathy, I can relate.... but, I've found that, over time, the feeling only rears it's lovely head occasionally now. I would love to have a house full, but I find my 4 keep me pretty busy as is. Face it, guys, these little buddies are quite a bit of work, too. I concentrate on giving the best I've got to give, feeding high quality food and getting lots of toys, good housing and stuff like that. I'd like to believe they are happy and healthy.

Rather than describing in detail in this thread exactly what the quarantine conditions are like in the back room at PetSmart, (which would be against our Site Guidelines)...

I'm just going to advise you that when the time does come, and you are looking to get more budgies, please try to find a reputable breeder rather than supporting the Birdie Mills. :(

I've seen the quarantine room, in more than one of the PetSmart stores, first hand.

Yep I have learned that....I guess that is why I am getting picky. I look at those poor birds and I feel so bad for them.

When I first read this thread I thought Oh boy I am not going to get into this one.....
But, this disease many of us catch is very contagious, some do manage to come through and live a normal life. However some become" Crazy Bird People"
The choice is not easy, I will be watching to see how bad the infection is for you my friend.:spin:

BAAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAAA!!!:laughing: Oh this thread is hilarious! I wish you good luck Kathy, in the Budgaholics Support Group :)! Every now and then I get the terrible urge, then the reality hits of how much work and cleaning 5 birds I have already takes. I tell myself, oh but budgies are so small... then reality hits again when I see how much poop the 2 produce and how fast lol!
I too, would love to either move or remodel the house one day when that's feasible (not for the foreseen future :(), and have a dedicated aviary and training room for the parrots and separate aviary for the budgies (and a few more budgies). Taking care of my dad's dog too since he became too elderly to care for her any longer. Right now I just can't add anymore animals! I might have to join the support group too ;). My "immune system" has been taking care of it pretty well, but every now and then, I do feel more symptomatic. :laughing2:

Emma (Therm) had me cracking up too :D.

It's great you're restraining yourself, Kathy! It's always good to show self-control, even though you'd like another adorable, fluffy, darling, sweet, charming budgie to care for, love, and call your own.

Even though watching its new personality would be so rewarding, thinking ahead and considering the current situation is sure to reap much greater rewards when the time does come to add to the flock!

(By the way, I think it should be another little girl, to even out the ratio of males-females)

Anyways, great job, keep it up! :D

What!? I am merely pointing out that
so many wonderful budgie traits
can make your thoughts become
fuzzy,
disoriented, :scare:
confusing you with delusions of desire
for that next chirping child,
but that it is truly the strongest
of us
who recognise
the value in patience
and
the reward in rational and organised decisions.
:bowrofl:

 See, it's not enabling! :p

Everytime I go to the little shop I got Thor from to buy him food/millet etc I spot a budgie that I want to take home :( (all from local, reputable breeders)

I even have a quarantine cage...

BUT NO ROOM TO PUT IT IN SEPARATE FROM THOR :'(

Just wait until I move to a bigger flat... Then you'll see! I'll have a flock in no time mwahahaha

Vet bills can easily help you decide against having more LOL. It is very expensive when a little birdie gets sick:eek:
