I guess a clearwing due to his body not looking
diluted, but I could be wrong. His cheek patches
also look quite vivid and violet. IS he a greywing
or a clearwing :) ?? :budgie:

this is something im trying to work out on my newbie, take a look at my post in mutations and colours, im not sure how to link the post, his wings seem less marked than my new girl.

I personally think it's a clearwing, although it might be a spangle. Sorry Tegan, but the picture is quite blurry and I can't see the best :eek:

Wow, looks like a greywing dilute.
Maybe I dont know what Im looking for after all haha
greywing and dilute can't be present on one bird, if a bird has both genes they will be greywing split dilute. dilute would also make the body colour very pale, whereas this one has lovely bright blue.

I honestly don't know how you guys do it - I read threads and see pics and thin I'm getting there ..... and then - Doh! I'm sure I'll get there x

The bird is a spangle :) The poor quality of the photo and the lack of markings on the wing do make it 'look' like a clearwing - but the markings on the head and neck and the spots (lack of) are spangle.

The flush of blue on the back of the head is a spangle trait. It could be both spangle & clearwing
