So for the past few weeks I have realized my few weeks I have realized my female budgie Snowflake's crop has gotten bigger and looks swollen. And I felt around around the bottom of her belly her underside and it feels like a round hardish lump where eggs sit. I though maybe she is egg bind? I will take her to the vet soon but I was wondering if you had any advice on treatment and stuff.

ou had any advice. What is the best solution to help push the egg out if she does have an egg stuck inside her?

Don't try and do anything yourself at home, you could make it worse. You need to take her to an avian vet to determine if she's even egg bound. She might just be about to lay an egg soon. If you try to remove it yourself, you could accidentally kill her by cracking / crushing the egg while getting it out.

Don't risk it. Get an avian vet to give you a proper diagnosis. They're equipped to deal with these things.

I have realized for the past few weeks that my females underside and crop looks larger than usual and she goes into the nesting box sometimes. I was thinking that she might be pregnant. Can you please tell me? Is it too long for her to be pregnant and when will she lay? I felt her underside around the legs and I felt an egg like hard round shape. Could that be an egg or do all females have that?

The purpose of this forum is to promote the BEST PRACTICES in the care of budgies for their optimal Health and Well-Being
Locating an Avian Veterinarian

Follow the advice given and take this budgie to an Avian Vet ASAP.
By not doing so, you are putting her life at risk.

Avian Vets have special training to determine the cause of symptoms resulting from illness or trauma.
This is important as "regular" vets will often overlook symptoms that are quickly obvious to an Avian Vet.
When you rely on anyone who has not had training in Avian diagnosis and care, you may be delaying effective treatment.
This can prolong suffering that may be avoidable.
The bird will often require a more intense, prolonged treatment with a poorer chance of full recovery than it would have if you seek prompt professional diagnosis and treatment at the first sign of illness.

If there are no Avian Vets near you, please find an Exotic Pet Veterinarian with experience in dealing with small birds.

Never try to self-diagnose or treat your budgie. That needs to be left to a professional.

WHY do you have a nesting box in her cage?
Do you have other budgies?
Were/are you attempting to breed her?
If you have mixed genders, it is very important to do everything necessary to prevent breeding.
Budgies are much healthier and happier when they are never bred.

If this is a solo budgie, she does NOT need a nest box. Budgies sleep on perches, not in holes.
You need to remove the nest box immediately and ensure there is nothing in her cage that could possibly be used as a nesting site.

You mentioned her going into a nest box
You need to remove that immediately! A nest box will prompt egg production, that will possibly lead to egg binding that could be deadly!
