I didn't think so, because his "shell" feathers seem to have a light center with a dark band then a light tip. I thought a spangle had all-light wing feathers with just the very tip dark. Today I looked at pix of some other spangle birds and saw feathers just like his!

So now I turn to you, O mutation experts - is he a spangle, or plain dilute?

Well I don't personally know genetics very well, trying to learn though. But I can tell you he is freaking gorgeous!! I'm jealous!:D:speechless-smiley-0:love:

i have trust in nev..but i didnt think it was when i looked at it. As he a light edges round the feathers and not dark:S

I'd say a spangle, but I'm no expert. He has the same patterning on his feathers as my late Billy, who I was told was definitely a blue spangle.
