Hi. Here is Justin/a! He is from a group of budgies that was allowed to breed and is between 4 months and 2 years of age. The previous owner developed health issues, the family contacted a local parrot rescue, they took in 11 of the budgies, and I am fostering two of them. This one was presented to me as "Justin", but after reading some of the threads here it dawned on me that "Justina" might be more appropriate.

Thank you!!

Hi there and welcome to the forums! :)

No doubt you have a gorgeous male budgie there, so Justin it is! :D
The patchy appearance on the cere must be due to his pied heritage and this is not cause for concern.

I'm glad you took Justin in and I'm wishing you the best of luck with your fosters!

Thank you for the sticky list! I've been making my way through them...slowly. I'll post more about Justin and Emma--and myself--over the weekend (with pictures of Emma, of course!). Whether or not I end up keeping them depends on how long it takes to get them adopted. At some point, I'll become too fond of them.:) One issue is that the rescue much prefers adopting out budgies in same gender pairs unless there is already a budgie of that gender in the household. At the moment, they have an odd number of females and males and I have the two aren't paired up. Justin gets along with just about anybody, Emma is, uhm...well meaning, but a bit bossy, which is why she is the odd female. Thus, their adaptability depends partially whether a suitable household shows up!
