Ok, so kale is a tough vegetable to make palatable enough but so worth it because of the nutritional value. Where do I even begin :D
Anywhoo, I got a big bag of already chopped and washed kale (so much easier:eek:) and dumped it into my big crock pot with some water, smoked turkey wings:thumbsup:, some salt and pepper (not too much salt since the smoked meat is already salty), paprika, and garlic. Cook that for several hours (half an hour before it's done, add some diced potatoes) and the kale will be so tender and the meat will be falling off the bone.
I added a teaspoon of heavy cream into my bowl when it was done - even yummier :D

I buy kale for Damon as he loves it, but I agree that it's as tough as old boots. Mum has tried cooking it before ,but all to no avail. We are now going to try your recipe and cook it up in the slow cooker for a couple of hours with some chicken drumsticks.Mum is going to follow your idea and add some potatoes and definitely a nice big dollop of cream !!!!!. Thanks for sharing.

Ooh time to dust off the crock pot! That recipe sounds good Dee :). Thanks for sharing... I can really use more slow cooker recipes!

I LOVE Kale. I actually like the variety they call Dino kale (very dark green, bumpy surface but smooth edges) RAW! I like it in salads. The ruffled edge type has to be cooked well IMO. I add kale to lots of dishes, even spaghetti. Tonight, Don slow cooked (boiled) pork until it was tender and falling off the bone, then used the water with the juice in it to make the brown rice. I cooked in the microwave (in water), carrots and kale to add to my dinner tonight.
