I was wondering if my lutino chicks are also hiding dominant pied. I realize that most lutinos have white flight feathers but these both have white markings on tops of their wings. Genealogy always helps with these color mutations so here is what I know. Keep in mind that the yellow is darker and the white is lighter than the photo shows. I had to use the flash.

Male Lutino split for blue and hiding dominant pied
Female cinnamon olive green split for blue
Chicks...
#1 lutino female
#2 dominant pied green split for ino and cinnamon male
#3 albino female
#4 lutino female
#5 normal olive green split for ino and cinnamon male

So what do you think is the lutino coloring hiding the dominant pied gene?

You would expect an average of about half of the albino & lutino chicks from this pair would be masking dominant pied but I don't think that it would be possible to tell which they are without breeding from them. A green series dominant pied would show yellow in all the clear areas so I doubt that the white markings mean anything

as nev said, dominant pied green birds have yellow on the pied areas not white, so the white is probably just uneveness of the yellow.
