Hi there and welcome to the forums!

Your wee boy is adorable! Nugget is a very cute name :)

Do you have any photos taken in natural light, especially of his wings? I'm really intrigued by his very dark wing patterns and wanted to look a little closer 😅

Meanwhile you've come to a great place to learn even more about the best of budgie care practices, if you have any questions after browsing the forums feel free to ask as we'd love to help.

Hope to see you around! 👋
He's precious :)

The photos still aren't the best but I can tell his mutation is opaline. He is extremely heavily marked so I would say he has high melanin in his markings which make them so bold. As he is at least half English, judging by his stature, cheek patches, and fuzzy feathers, this also makes his markings blend together a little more which gives him such a striking look.

He appears to be a pale violet in person, correct? (The lighting changes the appearance of his coloring somewhat). I'd say he is a cobalt single factor violet opaline budgie :) Opaline dilutes the body feathers up to 20%, so it would make him look paler than normal.

Handsome boy! Hope to see more of the wee one.
