Hi everyone
My pet shop reccomended that i give my budgie a multi vitamin additive. they sold me "beaphar Multi-vit"
Has anyone had any experiance using this. it sais add to the food, when i do it clumps up and the budgie wont eat it. Is it for wet food? or could i try it in water?

I use vitamin drops that I add to the water. My budgie doesn't really eat veggies, so it's good to have a suplement. I wouldn't do it if she was eating properly though. What does your budgie eat?

I was sold it when I had ash who wasn't well... but I wondered about it with Jay, I will keep leaving him carrot and lettuce. Maybe some grapes as a treat (if I don't eat them first) so he will have a reasonable diet. So probably not necessary.

I would say try to get his diet as varied and healthy as possible and you shouldn't need vitamins.
You could try making some chop.... Add some cooked rice or couscous or some cooked sweet potato... Even fussy eaters will usually find something tolerable there!:wink1:
Or sprout some seeds. Sprouted seeds are far healthier than normal seeds and they usually love them

If you're going to give it to Jay, I would add it to the water, as that is usually how liquid vitamins are administered.

However, Julie is right that with a varied diet, he won't need multivitamins

Budgies can get all the nutrients they need from seeds, pellets, veggies and their mineral block and cuttlebone that should always be in the cage ;)
