Hello and welcome to the forums,

You've been given great advice above by FaeryBee. I agree completely. A female is the best option as then you don't have to worry about accidental breeding. Whether or not two budgies get along is mostly related to personality and doesn't have much to do with gender.

Common Myths about Female Budgies

Do you have better photos of the first budgie? I can't decide if he's full body greywing or clearwing. Either way, he's a rainbow budgie, since he is also opaline, yellowface type II, and sky blue. The other male is sky blue yellowface I spangle. Both are lovely. However, as mentioned, you're better off getting another female.

Be sure to read through this and the other forum stickies and articles, most which are provided above, to ensure you're up to date on the best of budgie care practices. If you have any questions after doing so, please be sure to ask as we'd love to help.

We hope to see you around! :D
