My budgie has been vomiting for a few months already, we have been giving her medicine but it doesn't really help much. Its poop is normal and it still eats regularly. The thing it vomits is like yellow seeds but different from the seeds we give it. It usually just swing its head and the 'seeds' just flew out along with its saliva, but it will then dry up. The problem has been bothering us for a quite long time as other budge will eat those vomit sticking on the bird cage if we did not clean it thoroughly. Its feathers are puffed up and bit of sticky as those vomit always ended sticking to its feathers. Besides taking to the vet, do you have any idea what's going on with her and how I should help her? Thank you so much!

If this has been going on for months and you've been giving the bird medicine - was it prescribed by an Avian Vet?
It is never a good idea to self-medicate a bird. All illnesses need to be properly diagnosed and a treatment plan prescribed by an Avian Vet or an Exotic Pet Veterinarian who has experience dealing with small birds.
Avian Vets have special training to determine the cause of symptoms resulting from illness or trauma.
This is important as "regular" vets will often overlook symptoms that are quickly obvious to an Avian Vet.
When you rely on anyone who has not had training in Avian diagnosis and care, you may be delaying effective treatment.
This can prolong suffering that may be avoidable.
The bird will often require a more intense, prolonged treatment with a poorer chance of full recovery than it would have if you seek prompt professional diagnosis and treatment at the first sign of illness.

If there are no Avian Vets near you, please find an Exotic Pet Veterinarian with experience in dealing with small birds.
