My 8 year old sure seems to have a way with birds! So this is only day 4 of Stormy being in our family.
We did our first out of the cage in the bathroom. Stormy mostly just flew up to the top of the shower curtain. (the flight feathers are trimmed but she can still get some air). After the stretching of her wings we were going to let her rest in the cage but she began enjoying some hand training.
My daughter Breanna (who's 8) was able to get her up on her hand and fingers and was able to pet not only her belly but her head too.
I clipped up a couple of the videos we took with my phone. This session was a long one and the bird was very content on her hand. (More than mine and more than her little sisters hand!)

That's really sweet, Stormy is so comfortable she even wants to nap for a bit!
I'm sure with more time the bond between your daughter and Stormy will be even more special.

There is a special bond between the two and it will develop more and more...The more they are together the better the relationship will be.. def a progress to be watching.. reminds me of my bodie when he was first brought home...

How cute! Your daughter has the calmness and patience about her that animals need and most kids don't have...especially in today's culture where we get everything instantly so no one has patience.
