New Pics of Pedro and Poppy!

Pedro and Poppy no longer get to have out-of-cage time in my bedroom.

They had started chewing on the picture frames and I'd have to cover all pictures and all furniture whenever I let them out!

I decided that it would be easier to use my bathroom for their out-of-cage time. All I have to do is remove everything from the counter, close the lid to the toilet, take out the towels and bathmat and put down a vinyl tablecloth over the floor. This takes much less time and makes clean-up much easier as well.

Now they are just chewing holes in the shower curtain.

Sunny and Shelby are now able to have their out-of-cage time in my bedroom at the same time that Pedro and Poppy are out in the bathroom. :clap: :clap:

Some of you asked about updated pictures of Pedro recently. I was able to get a few today without him flying off or moving too much. :laughing2: Some are a wee bit blurry though.

Sunny, Shelby, Pedro and Poppy are looking rather beautiful :loveeyes:

I like the first photo of Pedro and Poppy, it really brings out the colour of Pedro's face

Hey, Deb, how do you get your birds to come out of the cage though? I have my budgie cage open all day for them if they decide to come out, but they are not interested. Very rarely. And it seems only Frankie comes out most of the time.

Little buggers!! I had a love bird once and I had a picture frame that was fabric and embroidered with little glass beads... he chewed every single bead off the darn frame!! I was not very happy with him

Sunny and Shelby love to come out to sit in the windowsill. I have the dog gate by the window and it has both a rope perch and natural wood perch with a couple of toys hanging from it. A ladder goes from the top of the gate to the windowsill, another from the lower cage door over to the gate and they have a little playground they enjoy when they come out. Every now and then they'll just sit in the door of the cage, or on top of the cage door that is opened. I just let them do their thing and they are happy.

Pedro and Poppy would be out of their cage all the time if I allowed it.

Yeah, these guys are very destructive little brats. First a flower wreath, then the picture frames, now the plastic shower curtain. at least in the bathroom there isn't as much for them to damage. They've also started trying to pull the wallpaper off in the bathroom, but I plan to remove it at some point in the next few months anyway.

so adorable! ur camera is so good quality! like even the blurry pics look normal! but there is hardly any blur. u so lucky to have such cute(dectructive) birds! i think u should let poppy and pedro take down the wallpaper for u! itll save u time! win, win, both ways! i donno why, but im always using exclamanamanation marks(thats how i pronounce exclamanation marks)!!!

Deb, you know what the public wants fantastic pics! Pedro looks very proud in that first pic but what little varmints, cewing everything!! Have you thought of buying or making some destructable toys for them to have during out of cage time?

They do look like they're smiling, I think its just because they're happy to have such a lovley home though :hug:

Erika, believe me -- they have destructible toys -- they just choose to destroy whatever they want! :laughing2: That's why they are now in the bathroom during out-of-cage time. Otherwise, I'd be doing nothing but chasing around after them to keep them from chewing, shredding or destroying everything in their path.

Oh my goodness! Pedro's little face looks as bright as a highlighter these days (a redish orange highlighter that is)! They may be naughty but they are awfully adorable brats
