Hello everyone!
I’ve recently been gifted a baby budgie, and of course I’m invested in giving him the best care possible. I’ve had budgies in the past, but alas I was only about 6 or 7 years old  I’ve had other birds as well, but I know care can vary species to species.
So far, my budgie is trusting me enough to let me pet him (head only of course), and he readily steps up and sits with me outside of the cage. My main goal right now is to get him off his all seed diet, as he was weaned onto seed by the breeder. If anyone has advice on how to convert him to pellets and chop, I’m all ears!
I’m super excited to be part of this community, as I’ve already learned a lot from previous threads. Thanks for all the indirect help already given, and I can’t wait to learn more on how to give my baby the best life possible!

Thanks for this! My budgies name isn’t decided, but it’s either Klaus or Leonardo (Leo)!

Your budgie is really cute! When I converted my budgie June to pellets I sprinkled some on a mirror and let him kick and chase them around until he got a bite. Any smooth surface would do.
