vi
:XD: You took the words right out of my mouth! I was sitting here staring at the pictures going ".. If this is real, I want one."

At first I really, really thought it was photoshopped... But the more I look at the pictures, the less likely it seems. :S It looks legit.

i doubt a defective gene, as they are older birds
but maybe a further mutation of the genetics behind cinnamon?
(i love cinnamons)
our genetic wiz's need to SEE this

as to injections in the egg......possible....but improbable.........
what would be the point?

and color bleaching the wings..... that would have damaged the feathers right?
or killed the birds
and those birds look healthy

luisa, do you think you can get more?
have you bred them yet?

wheres NEV or DEAN!

well injecting the eggs with dye will turn the bird the color of the dye , but only untill the first few molts so i doubt it.
Bleaching the wings would kill the birds ( because of the smell and preening)
But the further cinnimon gene i think is a possible , maybe one that has been 'unlocked' till this point

What?... that is so... strange, I agree with the others on the genetics thing. They looks so strange and its funny how the head bars are left untouched too.

your very fast answering...
You have a lot of question and I'm sorry I think I don't have so many answers.
Birds are not mine, a person from north Mexico. He doesn't talk English very well, well, little than me he needs a translator.
He told that somebody that have a lot with that color gave him budgies. Also told about parents have same color. There are two videos on youtube.
Someboy on the web have tried decoloring soe feathers with H2O2 (Sorry I don't know name in English) but nothing happend.

See that budgies are not red eyes or dark red eyes so I think they are not cinnamon.

Finally

Those budgies are so unique! They don't look real at all though... the way the blue head just stops and turns into orange... But who knows!
