Hi all - Digby is 7 (8 in October) have we been feeding her too rich food?

Last year she was squirting wee and forming soft poops. She barely eats anything other than seed of which we started getting her a fruit veg dry + seed mix (not that she ate much of the former.) However we stopped giving her that and she has stopped with the weeing and is producing solid poops.

She eats plain rice and pasta bits of banana boiled egg small amount of lettuce. As she appears very healthy, flies round a lot when we are in as she is out free to fly and she explores a lot, is everything ok?

Hi Sue,

I'm glad to hear darling little Digby is acting healthy, happy and is flying around and exploring!
It's obvious how much you love her and she's doing wonderfully well.
I can't believe she's going to be 8 years old in October already!

To try to help answer your question -- when a budgie eats vegetables, it is normal for the poop to be looser because of the high water content.
