Hi All,

..and finally the 4th set of hatchlings....and what a full "basket of fruit" these are?....poor mom...

Pair 4 (parents): "Raindrop" (hen) x "Royal-Blue" (****)

Dad's a YF T2 Spangle & mom a YF T1 FBC Greywing I'm told...
Bird Photograph Vertebrate Green Light

Then their babies:
Bird Vertebrate Beak Organism Parrot

Chick 1 ("wow, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this one for first time! "...hope she's a 'soon to be lady' too!):
Green Bird Parrot Beak Toy

Chick 2:
Bird Beak Parrot Falconiformes Feather

Chick 3:
Bird Hand Beak Rodent Finger

My guesses:
Chick 1: YF T2 Opaline Spangle

Chick 2: YF Cobalt Blue "normal" (maybe a bit of violet factor?)

Chick 3: YF Blue, Spangle maybe? (from dad)

others to follow shortly....

PS- See my gallery for other photos of parents should u wish...or upon request I'll post better parent pics...

...continued:

Chick 4 (he's a lucky one...he was thrown out of nest by another hen, that was trying to hi-jack this nest..maybe he's a survivor!):
Bird Finger Fawn Nail Terrestrial plant

Chick 5:
Bird Beak Horned lizard Finger Feather

Chick 6:
Bird Beak Parrot Feather Yellow

Chick 7:
Bird Hand Beak Finger Feather

My guesses:
Chick 4: (not a clue, but maybe it looks like blue in the feather)

Chick 5: Blue tail...blue series, maybe SF or DF?..but what about the "off-yellow" colour in the wings?...greywing...

Chick 6: YF T2 Spangle Grey-Green (split Opaline maybe, from mom?...if so, makes him a boy then)

Chick 7: Grey Green, split Blue?...unless I'm confused with it being "green series" given the YF seen in wings?

Any assistance on genetics (even visual means only) will be great...!

Hope U've enjoyed...

Thx to my son who patiently helped with the babies & pictures today..I owe him..ha, ha!

C U then on another day!

For the survivor, chick #4, you could call him Boston Rob. Rob is the lasted winner of the show Survivor and seems appropriate for Boston Rob because he truly was a survivor!

Hi Nev,

..what would the "visual pointers" (e.g. colour of down, early feather colour to back of neck) be towards Opaline in chicks 1, 3 & 4 that U identify?

Or is it the expected percentages (%) that you predict, given the others are non-Opalines?

Hopefully we will be able to judge for ourselves next time!
