Hey guys!

As most of you know I am trying really hard this next breeding season to get nice healthy, nice colored chicks. I am thinking of re-pairing (lol) some of my birds this year, to get some nice chicks. So for all the breeders out there, who would you pair with who to get some nice looking chicks? I only have time for about 4 maybe 5 pairs I am going to do this coming season.

My Females:
Candy-Opaline Spangle Violet
Willow-Opaline Grey
Macadamia-Normal Sky Blue
Charlie-Dominant Pied (Maybe Double Factor)
Crumble-YF Opaline Blue
Medusa-YF2 cinnamon opaline sky blue
Angel-White Opaline Lacewing
Foxtrot-
Grey Spangle

My Males:
Squeak-Spangle Cobalt
Ozzie-Greywing Grey
Apollo-Type 2 yellow face spangle sky blue. (possibly split to Ino)
Romeo-Normal Violet
Phantom-YF2 DF Spangle
Archie-Green Clearflight
No Name- YF Grey Normal

And: Melon:Light Green Dilute Cinnamon Spangle- Split to lacewing
I an not sure if Melon is a girl or boy

Why do you think I should pair them? Will the babies be nice?

I would REALLY like to breed some cinnamons!

You have several hens that are opaline, if they are not paired with a **** bird that has opaline genes there won't be any opaline chicks.

Phantom will produce all spangle chicks with any of the hens but the spangle will combine with other mutations.

If Melon is female she can't be split for lacewing because it is sex-linked. But if Melon is male you'd have a good mate for Angel

I would aviod pairing Archie with another pied type so you don't get combination pieds

You could send Angel over to me then you wouldn't need to find her a mate, lol

nu-uh! She is gorgeous. I love her. :p. The breeder recommended breeding Melon to Angel as well. Melon is only 4 or 5 months old though so I was thinking about breeding Angel at the start of the season, first pair with NoName (YF Grey) And then seeing if as the last pair of the season she will go with Melon

I am not sure what to do with Archie, he has such good conformation, nice clean feathers and such a vibrant colour. He's a pet type though... Should I take a chance with breeding him to Foxtrot, an english?

Oh and also, who should I pair to Medusa? She is such a stunning colour, I really want some nice chicks from her

o_O I received some interesting information from Tracy, The breeder

The grey spangle opaline hen was hatched on 15/12/08. Her father is a
yf grey opaline and her mother is a yf spangle sky (very pretty). So,
according to genetics, she is possibly a DF YF, so if you put her with a
white faced ****, you might get yellow faced babies.

Melon was hatched on 5/2/09 so he is only nearly 4 months old.
