Well, first off, is there a reason you haven’t taken Skye to the vet? That should have been your first course of action especially since she is an elderly budgie. Her unhealthy diet most likely had a high impact on her health as well; but I’m assuming she hasn’t been to the vet since good avian vets would have recommended she be given a more diverse diet as well.

To be honest with you, there is absolutely no way for any of us to know what is wrong with Skye since there could be a multitude of things wrong with her especially due to her age. Therefore despite the fact that since you’re asking on the forums this is probably not what you want to hear, you must take her into an avian vet right away if you want her to be at least a little more comfortable and at most to stick around for a little while longer 🤍

I can't understand why you didn't contact an Avian Vet for Skye immediately when she began having problems.
That should always be a budgie owner's first course of action if their bird is injured or unwell.

Avian Vets have special training to determine the cause of symptoms resulting from illness or trauma.
This is important as "regular" vets will often overlook symptoms that are quickly obvious to an Avian Vet.
When you rely on anyone who has not had training in Avian diagnosis and care, you may be delaying effective treatment.
This can prolong suffering that may be avoidable.
The bird will often require a more intense, prolonged treatment with a poorer chance of full recovery than it would have if you seek prompt professional diagnosis and treatment at the first sign of illness.
If there are no Avian Vets near you, please find an Exotic Pet Veterinarian with experience in dealing with small birds.
