Pedro and Poppy pondering...

Why do we always have to have our out-of-cage time in the bathroom? :S The budgies get to be in the bedroom.

Well, I don't think that Momma likes it when we eat the picture frames and window sill. And -- you pooped on her bed the last time we were out in the bedroom.

I know. We do have lots to play with in here and we have a window all to ourselves!

Yep, and she always brings us millet when it's time to go back in the cage. Not a bad deal, if you ask me!

I must agree that chewing up picture frames
borders on Bad Birdie Manners, even for a
couple as special as you two. But hey, what
you have in your private bath, you don't have
to share! And I've heard millet fixes most
everything, so it sounds like not such a bad
deal to me.

C'mon, tell the truth -- it's just that those picture
frames are so crunchy, is it? I can understand
missing something so delightfully munchable

Stay sweet, Pedro and Poppy, and enjoy all that millet
your mom never forgets to share :)

Pedro and Poppy have both eaten millet this way since I first rescued them. :giggle:
The beautiful couple are as beautiful as ever. But Poppy looks like she has a bit of an attitude in the last picture. Imagine turning her back on you and Pedro. They are two of the luckiest lovies ever. :)

Miss Poppy almost always has an attitude.
She knew I wanted her to go back in the cage and was staging a minor protest.

BTW -- sorry the first pictures are sort of blurry. I promise to do better next time.
Such amazingly beautiful birdies! If I ever get a lovebird I would like it to look just like Poppy. Are they not very tame?
Hehe, cute story :)

I have always admired normal green PF lovebirds but your blue is stunning! Is he some kind of dilute blue whiteface?? What is his color called?

Thanks, Poppy is a Fischer's Lovebird!

Thanks, Wendy! :D

Thanks, Susan -- Hi to all of you!!
They are both so pretty! I haven't ever seen one that looks like Poppy, all the blue ones I've seen have black/grey heads.
Very cute :) I'm glad to see Pedro is comfortable enough to eat the millet out of your hand! Or maybe he is blinded by the millet and doesn't care what is holding it :giggle:
As long as there is millet, both Pedro and Poppy have eyes only for it!
Oh my, would have not guessed he is Fischer.
Neither have I! And I have a pair fischer's and 3 of their chicks.
I thought Poppy was a dilute blue masked lovebird. A very beautiful one, it's not common to see that colouring.
I still have a lot to learn about them, it seems!
