Where in the world are you? In the US, Craigslist is very popular for rehoming pets, and many pet people are likely to look there. There is a section for lost and found I believe? There are other sites like it depending on what country you're in.

You can post flyers, call local vet offices and alert them. Does the bird have a band or other identifying marks? You'll need to have someone tell you a certain characteristic about it, to weed out the people posing as the owner just to score a free budgie. Good luck finding the owner!

Julie's got some great tips for you. Really consider dropping a word at the local vet office since they may able to provide you with further help.

I'd also suggest going to Parrot Alert and, if you're facebook savvy, checking out 911 Parrot Alert.

Thanks for rescuing the little guy and good luck with your mission to bring that baby back to his home! :)

Hi. We've rescued a budgie from our garden last night but would like to reunite it with its owner? Where do we start?
It's great that you rescued the little budgie and wonderful you are making an effort to locate its owner.

The previous posters all made excellent suggestions

Posting on Hoobly/Craiglist/Kiji
Notifying all Humane Shelters and vets in your local area
Contact the RSPC
Consider putting a "found" ad in the local paper
Posting notifications on the forums Ceyla suggested

If you are unable to locate the owner, will you be adopting the little budgie yourself? We'd love to welcome you permanently into our Talk Budgies "flock" if that turns out to be the outcome.

Please keep us updated!
