Update Time!
Okay so Ricky, having been discovered to be female instead, is now officially known as Kali as per my husband's decision since he picked her out. Genevieve is still Genevieve
The girls seem to be feeling MUCH more comfortable in their new home with us now

It's so exciting to not see them freak out and dart away from us. However it's funny they seem to have done a complete switcheroo in their training.
With millet as bribe Genevieve will now happily hop onto our hand without hesitation to get a nibble (I honestly think she'd commit murder for that stuff!) it's not to say that she's particularly warmed to us yet (she'll still give us the proverbially "bog off!" climb up the walls if we push her a little too far) but she's happy to go up onto our finger and will stay there until we put her back. I'm anticipating she'll be quite tamed in no time!
Now Kali (The Budgie Formerly Known as Ricky) seems to have done a total 180. At first she was skittish but seemed okay with going onto our hands but now she seems to have taken a frozen "What are you goin to do to me you hideous featherless giant???" stance. We can get her onto our fingers but not without a basically sweeping her from the perch to our fingers where she will then sit just fine and happily take a few nibbles of millet, but it's quite clear that she's just not very comfortable (we don't push her with it but try to get her on at least once or twice a day).
MY thinking is that she's become closed off all the sudden because truth be told GENEVIEVE IS A TRUE ENDEARMENT GENERALLLY RESERVED FOR FEMALE DOGS lol I say this with absolute endearment because it's one of the things I'm start to love about her lol but also not so endearingly because she seems to be QUITE the bully. She doesn't stop Kali from eating or anything (Thank GOD) but she screeches at her all the time, pushes her to the edge of the perch until she has no choice but to climb up the cage walls, etc. and poor Kali seems to just be a bit frozen by it a lot of the time.
They do groom each other quite a lot and make the sweetest little noises as they do so it's not like they're fighting but Genevieve has made it clear she wears the pants in that cage.
Is this something to be concerned about or keep an eye on? Should we consider getting them two cages for a bit so poor Kali can more properly adjust to her new home?
Thanks all who managed to read through this all!
