Rusty Cage

Hello all,
I was cleaning my budgies cage today and noticed rust around the bottom near the tray/grill that holds the cage liners. I immediately went online and purchased a new cage for her, but it wont arrive for a few days. Im unsure of what to do in the mean time. I have removed a good portion of the rust but the residue is still there. However, the rust is in an area where she does not really have access to as it is covered by the tray and grill. I have another cage here that I purchased but plan on returning because the length between the bars is too large (3/4 of an inch wide) but havent returned it yet. Would it be safer for her to go in the unrusted cage with wide bars or stay in her cage? Shes had no issues so far in her old cage but i am very scared about the rust.
thank you all for your advice!

Leave her in the cage she is in currently since the rusted areas are in a place that she can not access them.

Thank you for ensuring her safety by getting her a new cage promptly and also for checking on the cage with 3/4" spacing between the bars.
I definitely do not recommend using that for a budgie. The risk i for injury is much too high. I am glad to hear you are returning that one.
