I plan to build an acrylic feeder for my budgies, However i was wondering what was a safe adhesive to use to bond the pieces together.

The sealant would be inside out of reach of the budgies but i am unsure if it is safe, I've been looking for an answer all over but I only hear about it being safe for fish tanks no answer on birds.

Any opinions on the best way to put these pieces together?

If it's food safe silicone, then provided it's assembled away from the birds (fumes) and allowed to 'cure' for recommended times, then I'd think that the only remaining issue would be, could the birds bite bits off and ingest them. If you're certain that it would be out of reach, then I would assume that it would be safe.

Is there a particular reason why you want to make rather than buy one?

The ones at the store near me are made for smaller outdoor birds, i bought one but its difficult for my budgies to properly eat, and currently i have the food cups that attach to the side of the cage but they fight over them even though there are more dishes nearby. so i'd rather have a larger area where they can all fit on the same feeder and scoot away when needed but still be able to eat.

In my other cage i have a large serving plate they eat from but the 2 birds in that cage are good at not pooping in it, in the cage i need to build this feeder for i have a disabled budgie with one leg who will sit in the dish and poop on the food if the space to sit is available.

You could always use something like this as a dish on the cage floor.
If you only put food in the outer ring, hopefully your disabled budgie couldn't easily sit (& poop) in it:

I have something similar to that, he likes to sit in that groove T_T maybe i can find a way to modify it i'll see what I can do.... The poor thing has 1 leg and a sideways toenail on one toe.

OH i almost forgot, the other reason i'm asking (for a much later project) to make a waterfall with purifying/bacteria killing filtration system that they can bathe in. BUT thats a much later project once I get back to my home state/have a house and workshop of my own :001_tongue:
