Hi, everyone! Sorry I've been gone for the past week. Work has been busy and nights have been crazy!

Sammy (and our dog, Watson) have been getting lots of attention, though.

Here's a new video of Sammy! I introduced him to his reflection a few weeks ago, and he loves it. It's a very high-energy time, so we tend to use mirrors only when he has a lot of energy to burn. :budgie:

Sammy says about 20 different phrases. Our current favorites are "ay mi chico" ("Oh, my little boy" in Spanish) and "Come here, Watson!" We're working on "Elementary, my dear Watson" now that we know that he can say our dog's name.

Sammy finishes his heavy metal treatments this week (hopefully!) and will have a follow-up on Tuesday. We love his vet Quique at Hospital El Bosque (c/ Illescas, 215 Madrid, in case anyone in Spain is looking for a wonderful exotics vet!)

We're wishing lots of warm thoughts for all of our budgie friends!

Sammy is SO cute talking to his reflection!!
He knows that is a VERY Handsome fellow he's looking at in that little mirror and I just love his little voice.

Thanks, Deb! He has moments where he's a lot more chatty, so hopefully I will catch one on video soon.

I've never seen a budgie change his voice based on "who" he's talking to - have you? Sammy said "bird" like "boooorrrrrrdddd" when he talks to his reflection but he says it normally with the rest of us. It's so funny!

Aww - Sammy is Adorable! I so enjoy his deep little voice, as. of course, he does too! Good talker, your little guy!
Glad to know he is recovered from that heavy metal poisoning - such a common hazard for our little budgie friends...

What a handsome boy! And he definitely knows it

Speaking of those who know Sammy is a handsome boy, Mallorn is officially in love with him.
She's always with me when I watch all the budgie videos posted on here and at Sammy's, she flew out of her cage, started bobbing her head in front of the screen, chirping wildly, and got upset when the video ended
