Hey guys
this is my male budgie, buddie.
i am really confused with what he is
his colour is darker than that of a cobalt budgie, but lighter than a violet.

Is he a slate then?? :S :S

No, he is a cobalt. It's possible he has violet in him, but I can't really tell in that picture. He looks a lot like my little guy, who is a violet, but a very light almost not noticeable violet.

Slate will make him grey and he doesn't have any grey on him.

I can't see any violet in those pictures.

Can you take a picture of him next to something blue? Like a skyblue budgie? This is how I get violet to show up in pictures.

I agree with Amelia that I don't see the violet. It is near impossible to get it in pics. My guy always looks pure blue.
I do see a slight color difference under his face, which is where mine has an obvious violet color. It may be sf.

Good luck getting that other pic!

I can't see violet in the pictures but it often doesn't show up very well in photos. If the bird is lighter than a cobalt he is probably a violet sky blue- they are often mistaken for cobalts
