So this is our new little friend Stormy. (we got this new little bird after losing Lightning) We had a little outside time and this is the first time we heard Stormy chirp. (stormy is a baby about 2 months so we aren't sure if we have a boy or girl yet)

The chirp is a bit high pitched and super cute! Reminds us of a canary almost. Although Stormy was next to the Canaries at Petsmart! :)

Congrats on your new budgie! Those are normal baby chirps, all budgie chicks chirp like that. When Stormy gets older, he/she will sing like a normal adult.
I couldn't take a look at Stormy's cere/beak area to determine its gender, as it was too far away.
You can try to take some pics, front shots of its face so we can see whether it's a male or female.
Best of luck with Stormy! :D

oh okay. We were hoping Stormy might retain that cute chirp but that's okay we have it on video at least! :p

Stormy is still a bit jumpy near us so we can't get really good pictures just yet. But the cere is bluish purple near the bottom and whitish near top. Since Stormy is a baby it might change. Stormy is only 2 months old as far as we know.

Love that Yuki was chirping along!
