I have never heard any sound when a budgie drinks water. They will sometimes sleep mumble and you will hear little chirps and squeaks but it does not sound like a choking noise.

no, i think HelynNore is taking about the spasm after the drinking.

Hmm I see. I noticed today more.
It also sounds similar to hiccup / crying sounds. Sometimes loud sometimes very tiny sounds. Like 1x peeping high pitch. Thinking of Sleeptalk or cry ? sounds sad sometimes. Then after that again hearing the hiccup thing. Ithough it could be bacterial but on the other hand its just only during the night.

well like faerybee said it just maybe she is making noises in her sleep, it's only happening at night.
