I know it's a bad angle and you can't really see her, but it's the closest I can get the camera to the cage without her freaking out. She hand shy as you might be able to tell, but she's incredibly sweet. When she falls forward toward the end, she doesn't even try to bite me. It's like she's saying "I love you mommy even though you try to make me step up". Ad I love the little sqeak she made at the end!

Hey Kassy!

Thanks for sharing this video!! It really looks like Elsa is taking well to your hand being in the cage. I've found that mine will use their beak to stabilise themselves, even if it's on me - but it's never a bite as such, and more of a support grab. I see them doing it often around the cage to reach higher perches without spreading their wings.

Really looking forward to her progressing to step up!

PS: Perhaps Elsa would get on well with my little Olaf

Possibly! When I went to the pet shop, I was originally looking for a male to name Olaf! But then I saw Elsa. I know it will be a little difficult since she's over a year now. Her first hatchday was approximately 11/21/2014. And I'm going to be getting her a friend just in time for Christmas.

Lol ironically Olaf was going to be Elsa when we thought she was a girl. We bought him a girlfriend but she was yellow, not blue, and ended up Belle! Disney fan much? Lol.

Keep at it - she'll get it! She's probably enjoying the interacting and mental stimulation as much as you are!

That's so cute! I actually hadn't heard of TB until September, and I got Elsa in April of this year. I'd been training blindly for about 5 months. I'll admit, it was off and on because I was getting a bit frustrated. But she's my little buddy now. I feel bad since the only time she's ever been out of her cage is when she escaped during the first two months or so. I think it scared her a little bit. But I've done all her training inside her cage, so she's fine with hands moving around in it. Unfortunately, when I first got her my dad came over and when I left the room he opened up the cage without my permision and tried to catch her. Thankfully it didn't take too much time to correct. Needlessly to say, she proceeded to hate him, or at least appear to.

If you put your finger under her belly instead of aiming for her feet, she will instinctively grip your finger and step up.
She is doing well, bless her.

I've alternated between feet and belly. She steps up with one foot, but seems hesitant to bring the other one up. It's like she's saying. "Nope, Mom. That's not safe. I'm going over here" and jumping to a different perch.
