Hello guys, now it's Easter holidays and we are getting ready for Easter day!Forty days before Easter, as a tradition, Greek Orthodox Christians have nisteia, we don't eat meat, dairy or anything that comes from animals. On Wednesday and Friday we don't eat oil also. But here's a dessert that we make during this time and it doesn't contain oil, butter or eggs!
and it's really easy!
We'll need:
300 gr Tahini (Tahini is a paste made from ground, hulled sesame seeds)
1 glass warm water
1 glass orange juice
2 glasses of sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves (powder)
1 handful raisins
1 handful walnuts
500 gr all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
Preheat the oven in 180 C. Put all ingredients in a big bowl and mix well with a big spoon. Then place the dough in a big non-stick baking pan.
Bake the dessert until the surface is brown, 40 minutes more or less. After the baking, leave the dessert for 2 hours. Then cut into pieces and decorate with some sugar powder.
It will look like this:

Happy Easter everyone!!
