Congratulations!!! how exciting! When's the big day?
We have no set date! It took him over four years just to give me this ring.
Congratulations! What a lovely ring, did he choose it?
He most certainly did. Not only did he go by what he loved but he kept in mind something I would want. (He was spot on!)
WHAT???!!!
HELLO, WHERE ARE THE DETAILS??!!
LOL, Congrats!!!
Okay so...
As some people may know he works abroad for four weeks at a time. He's been down in Montserrat (a small island in the Caribbean) working on a rig drilling for Geothermal activity/energy.
On his way home this last time (he actually was sent home early because the rig has broke and needs a new part) he apparently stopped at Columbia Emeralds International in Antigua (which he flies from to come home) and went looking for engagement rings. The woman set out this ring... He really fell for it first, but the lady of course took out another huge selection. In the end he told her he would still go for the first ring because it's just best to go with the first one you really like.
The ring is a 14 karat white gold, 4 invisible prong, Princess cut diamond engagement ring (with certification of authenticity).
He arrived in Iceland and was stationed for 9 days on the rig being set up in Keflavik, two hours drive from here. Which apparently he had the ring hidden with him the entire time (even though he spent two nights here while stationed there).
Thursday was his last shift for 3 weeks and he got off work at 7:30pm, he went to Reykjavik to pick up his brother, my "new" car (1992 BMW 318ia) and make the convoy home (he had his brother following him in our other car just in case my car broke down). He got in after 11pm but was called to go over to the summer house due to the security system going off.
He got home about 11:30pm... I paused my True Blood to have a chat and he asked me to hold on a second while he snuck into my room to grab something, which I thought were maybe his pajamas. (Note: He was still wearing all his work gear, hasn't showered, shaved or even had time to do anything to his hair) Asi returned from my room and sat down, handing me the box. I sat there struggling to open since it was actually a ring box inside a small box.As soon as I opened it and my expression went all like

, he said "Will you?".
So there you have it.. It wasn't really romantic or anything (he had no time to do something real special because his younger brother ruined that by making him and his other brother wait in Reykjavik for 2 hours and not show up for the ride), but he at least gave me the most expensive piece of jewelry I have ever owned (yes this is even considering I've been married twice before and neither of them even gave me a ring more than $10 or even ask!). He waited 9 days to be able to give me the ring and he didn't want to wait until Friday when he could of done something a bit more special (I guess he will make this up to me as well).
Btw, thanks everyone for the congrats.
