Hello,
I am new to this forum, and sadly my first post is a sad one.
I had 3 budgies, free flying all day, only go into the cage to sleep.
I bought it before realising I needed one wider that taller.
It has an opening roof which you can place a perch into, this also keeps the roof open.
I must have not placed the perch in properly, and one of my birds knocked it out of place, so the roof closed onto him, trapping him on the neck. He died instantly.
I have now altered the cage so the roof cannot close on it's own. I have bent the wires so it falls fully open, and no perch.
I just wanted to share this so anyone with a similar cage can be forewarned.
Pics attached of the cage I bought and how I changed the roof.
Pat.
