Way to go, Tito Junior!!

This is a glorious day for the whole flock and I, there is hope after all!
My Tito Junior has finally figured out how to mate and even though it was a bit awkward, he managed to do well on his first time ever! And I'm so very happy for him!!
Since last Summer when I first attached a nest box into his cage that I have been waiting for Tito Junior to charm his lady and carry on the legacy left by his departed father, who was without a doubt my most special budgie of all.
On the fateful morning I lost my precious boy, Tito I made a promise to keep his Royal lineage going for as long as I could. This is my third attempt (3rd different female) and I'm glad it's working out.
I'm well aware celebrating this may seem silly, I don't even know if things will go well and chicks will hatch, but things are well on their way and I'm one step closer in assuring the legacy.
He is currently paired up with a cobalt blue recessive pied opaline (possibly split for greywing because one of the parents is a greywing), she belongs to a good friend of mine who was kind enough to lend her to me for the breeding and of course she will be getting a chick or two as well if they are successful.

Tito Junior's 2nd hatchday is also coming up in a few days, on April 24th and by that time I'm pretty sure his mate will have at least one little egg, she is already displaying the egg bum and making larger poops.

I know it won't be as easy to get to my personal goal of having a budgie just like my Tito (light green greywing opaline boy), but right now I just want healthy chicks no matter the colour! ;)

Thank you so much for the well wishes, everyone! :D
There won't be as many pictures this time around since my Tito Junior is the shyest and most nervous budgie of the flock and his mate is not at all tame.
Of course I will do my best in taking a couple of pics of the chicks as they grow up. I would rather have them raise their family with as little interference and stress as possible, since it's their first time at parenthood.

Even though the quality isn't that good (had to use the cell phone because Tito Junior freaks out with the big camera), I managed to take a couple of shots just now of the proud daddy to be standing guard at the nest box's entrance.

I'm keeping everything crossed and wishing for the best outcome, whatever that may be! :fingerx:

Congrats.Aluz, I'm so exited for you and I'm glad you get to keep your promise to Tito,to keep his lineage going, can't wait to see pinkies :)I would also be overjoyed, my Tackett is my special boy, and I would also love to have some babies from him :)
Aluz, I'm so happy for you, and quite proud of Tito Jr. For sealing the deal. Fertile or not, he got the hang of it and if God forbid it doesn't work this time, he can try again. Good luck to you and yours.

It's so nice to be understood here, not many people would grasp the importance of this small, yet so meaningful milestone. And the promise I made to Tito I hold dear to my heart and it will be one of the most joyous days when I get the chance of seeing Tito's first grandchild and I'm sure I won't be able keep the tears from flowing, just imagining the moment makes me feel emotional.

Thank you so much, Kristen. Indeed, if this time around things don't work out well, at least he is getting some practice and next time will surely go better.
Today, he tried mating with her and couldn't balance well and ended up on the cage's floor, he still has a lot to learn, but he's getting there! :)

Thanks, Deb! Eggs are bound to come, whether they're fertile or not. This time I won't ask for much, I will be over the moon with just one pinkie. :D
Well hearty congratz to Tito Jr.! He's now a MAN:party2:...but wouldn't that make you a granny? LOL just kidding, Ana!;)

BTW, that photo of him looking into the box is so cute! His wide eyes look shocked at what he see inside...like "OMG, Quintuplets?!":D
Tito Jr has gotten over his commitment issues and cold feet:p I hope things pan out for him now that he has taken a leap of faith.:D

Thanks, Nick! And yes, he's finally the "man"! His wide-eyed look was more because of the phone being to close to him for picture time, like I said he is very nervous overall, especially when I'm holding objects too close to him.

Yes, Spring time really did the trick and nature got the hold of him and I'm happy for it! :D

By the way, Easter has come a little too early here. Tito's mate, (her name's Bela) laid her first egg yesterday! :woot: Still I'm 95% sure the egg is not fertile, I have only seen one mating between them, which wasn't all that well performed and their other attempts I have seen weren't at all successful.
Yesterday I just had to laugh, Bela was so shocked that the egg came out of her that she stormed out of the nest, didn't spend the night there and this morning it took her a good 10 minutes of checking the nest and looking at that "foreign object" before going inside. I guess she wanted to make sure the egg wouldn't attack her or something! These two are very cautious! :giggle:
