Hi,
I am very pleased to join your forums :), you are great guys!
I am totally new to having a pet in home and have never had a bird before (And I am not proud of this :( ).
I want to breed my two Budgies, but I want to know what color will the babies be, I know a bit about genetics but when I started to read about the Budgie bird's genetics I began to realize I am still pretty much elementary to tell.
Here are their pictures:

Thank you very much for reading :).

I think you have a sky blue dom pied hen, and a cobalt **** so youre going to get a 50% sky blue and 50% cobalt with some normal and Dom Pied combinations. And I think the are TOO YOUNG to be a parent, I'm guessing they're only 3 month old under. Btw I'm not too sure....I'm still learning with the mutation thing :) I know someone could help you here.

3 months? I thought they were older, but that's okay anyway.
But one more thing, do they look healthy and good with each other ? Is there is any symptoms of any illness or so ?
Thank you very much for your reply.

Head bars is one of the indications of their age and base on what I see on these pictures they still have it, your hen I think is moulting so I think she's 3month old...... I can't tell base on the picture whether they are healthy or not :)

Your hen is a Dom pied olpaine sky blue as she looks like my babies :)

Your male also looks like cobalt dom pied olpaine as you can see small white patch on his belly and his wings too (from that last pic you can just see his wings on the right.)

They both have pink feet so dom pied indicator :)

I think the male is slightly younger as his head bars are more pronounced.

Make sure they are not just eating seed, give them plenty of veg & fruit (50/50 seed and veg/fruit diet), and get mineral blocks too.

I would get rid of them plastic perches (dont like them personally as you don't get them in the wild lol) and get them natural wooden branch shaped ones as they are better for their feet and gives them something to chew on and its better for their beaks :)

Oh get them toys my birds love mirrors they will go mad for them lol

PS they look beautiful and look healthy to me :)

I agree, give them natural perches,
much better for them, I am doing this for all my birds.
But dont give them mirrors.
Its not good for their mental health.
They think its another budgie and could get attach to the mirror.

You wouldn't be able to breed them until they are the minimum of 12 months (1 year) old.. 16-18 months old is better and preferred because they are mature mentally and physically :)

Your hen is around 4 months old given the molting, the **** is around 3 months. They are beautiful, congratulations :)
