Can anyone tell me what mutation JayJay is? I thought he was a normal green budgie, but he has pretty blue feathers in his tail. I believe I read that that would signify a blue dominant something, something ... ?? Ha Ha Budgie mutations/genetics is soooo hard to learn. :soconfused: (No flash)

All green budgies have blue/tiel tails.
he looks to be a opaline grey wing.
A look from the front would be much better.
his flight feathers look to be clear so definatly a look fron the front please :)

I have no idea. :D

But i can tell you that Jayjay is a STUNNING bird!
Thanks alkindiJK. I didn't really want a green budgie, but I'm really lovin' the way he looks. He's so sweet and tries so hard to be friendly. :)

The distance/lighting in the pic make it hard to clearly make out wing markings, but from what I can see I would agree with it being an opaline grewying light green.

Opaline cinnamon light green. The throat spots look brown so I think it's cinnamon not greywing. Although the flight feathers have been clipped from the little we can see they look to be clear so if they are clear he is also a clearflight pied

A closer picture would help but I think he might be a she

JayJayeta hmmm. A mouthful. Different camera, new pics. This is toooo funny. "He" certainly has a female personality. I think. I've never had a female, but way more skittish than any other parakeet I've seen.

JayJay looks like a male in that first photo and a female in the second. I don't think you should change the name. If it's a female just spell it JaeJae. :)
