I'm no expert, but looks cinnamon to me. What are the differences between a cinnamon and a lacewing? He's gorgeous at any rate!:)

a lacewing is an Ino (red eyes, no body color) with cinnamon markings (I have one :D) a cinnamon is a regular budgie but they have cinnamon markings instead of black. a fallow budgie is a dilute budgie with red eyes and cinnamon markings (I don't think how dark the cinnamon is matters because I have a lacewing and they have supposedly dark markings but his are so light they're barely visible. you can only see them if you look closely and you have to be there in person. They don't show up in pictures ; besides, the site doesn't say anything about how dark the cinnamon is on a fallow budgie) :D

Hmm. I didn't even think of Fallow. I'm not sure at all. I originally thought lacewing because of the red eyes, but like I said hadn't thought of fallow. But having read about fallow, it seems fallows have diluted body color while Cinnamon's not as much. So, I think she may be fallow as well.

I don't know. I just know she is beautiful! Hopefully I will be getting her tomorrow.

It does not look like a fallow to me. You can still see the undulated markings on the head in the original post photo.

You can see that the fallow does not have any striping on the head.

It looks like a dilute cinnamon skyblue to me.

Yes, I noticed that as well. But when I was reading about Fallows, it says that they can have markings on the head, neck, mantle and wings in cinnamon color. Also, cinnamon does not have red eyes. I'm fairly certain her eyes are red, which would really only leave Lacewing or Fallow I think.

Fallow

There are several types of fallow varieties, but in general, the fallow's head, wing, and tail markings are brownish. The body color is gradually diluted and is most visible on the rump. The eyes are red (some varieties do not have a pink iris, others do) and the cere of the male fallow does not change normally. Adult male fallows have purple ceres. Adult female fallows have the normal white/tan/brown ceres. This is a very beautiful specialist variety and is only seen in exhibition budgies.

Basic Genetics:
Normal - dominant
Fallow - recessive

I'm still not too sure though. It will be easier to distinguish if I am able to get her and take better pictures.

rachelle good luck in your budgie prettybird 1212 i think hit it on the head. are u getting that englis from a breeder?

I am going to say Dilute sky blue cinnamon

a Lace wing has NO color in its body but White (for albino) or Yellow(for lutino)

cinnamon does seem to lighten the body color sometimes(it did on mine) BUT not that light

here is my Sky Blue Cinnamon (he is actually lighter then the pics show him to be)

He is the one over to the right sitting by himself

in person his blue is more of a pale sky blue not the normal Bright sky blue

It all depends on whether her eyes are actually red or it is just red eye in the photo. If she does have red eyes she must be either lacewing or fallow. She appears to have too much body colour for a lacewing so I think fallow is more likely. Fallows come in all colours and can combine with other mutations so the presence of bars or otherwise would depend on what other mutations were present

Update

Ok, just got home with her. She is GORGEOUS! The picture shown earlier must have been with flash, because just looking at her she is all white. But when the sun would hit her right in the car, is when she would have a blue tint. Her eyes are definitely Red, and she also has Iris Rings.

I'm letting her calm down a bit, then will take pictures in about an hour or so. Hopefully I can get them to come out the right color.

She looks just like this bird, only the wing markings are a paler cinnamon color. Her cheek patches and throat spots are the same though. Just Gorgeous!!!!!!!!
