I've just recently got into breeding budgies.

I would like to learn more about the genetics of two female budgies that I have.

Pictures attached:

Bird Beak Parrot Natural material Feather
Bird Beak Feather Wing Songbird
Bird Eye Beak Parrot Yellow
Bird Vertebrate Parrot Beak Yellow

P.S The almost all yellow budgie had one baby for me so far (it's 3 weeks old and soo cute and smart) and it has a clear patch on the back of its head (so I guess its split for recessive pied).

The 1st one is an opaline greywing male. He looks like he could be a type 2 yellow face blue that has gone green

The 2nd bird is a dilute female

I was thinking the first one was a female because the cere is a brownish color? So am I wrong?

I have put him/er together with another male and I always se him/her doing the feeding and that's when I was like maybe she is a he???

I am new to genetics, but the second bird could she be dilute and a recessive pied?

I appreciate the feedback!

How did you know the opaline greywing was a male?

I asked the store person to help me find a female and he said it was a female :S
