My heart was actually in my boots before I took these photos. I went to check on Paddington in his bird safe room where I've also put a towel up over the mirror to stop him running into it. He was not on his window screen or his branch or on top of his cage or ANYWHERE! I called him, no answer, not a peep which is not like him. I looked for about 5 minutes and then ...... think I need to put another few pegs along the top so can't see the little bird in the mirror but can still enjoy his cozy spot :)

AND HERE HE IS IN MY BEDROOM FINDING YET ANOTHER UNUSUAL PLACE TO PERCH! LOOK HOW HIS COLOUR IS CHANGING SO QUICKLY AND THE BLACK ON HIS BEAK IS NEARLY FADED

I can just imagine how your heart was pounding when you couldn't find Paddy and he wouldn't answer you.

Paddington looks quite pleased with himself lying up on the towel by the mirror. :giggle:
Now that he's found that all sorts of things make good perches it is going to add to his fun of making Mom try to find where he's hiding.

Peachy has done the same to me in the past. I had him with me in the utility room one day and he flew off. I assumed he went to his favorite perch in that room but when I was ready to get him he wasn't there. It turned out he was way up on a tool box on the top of the highest cabinet and quite pleased that I had to climb on top of the washing machine in order to get him back down!

Oh boy, they are always on to something and looks like Paddy found a cosy place to rest for a bit. :)

One time I was out of my bedroom for a scarce 10 seconds or so to fill Khaleesi's birdie bathtub with water and when I get back I don't see him on his usual spot. I called him and he answered with just a tiny chirp. I found out he was under the bed, perched on my tennis shoes and chewing the laces. :p

Thanks for your comments everyone.

These little birds are just beyond my wildest dreams regarding cuteness, loyalty, affection, silliness, adventure, fun and love.

I love the tool box and tennis shoes stories :D
