Hi

I've got a budgie that I will be looking into breeding in the future. She is a light green cinnamen opaline.

Attached are some photos of her.

What would be the best mate to pair her with to try and keep the cinnamen and opaline?

Thanks

if you would like to breed cinnamon and opaline you will need to have a cinnamon opaline male, or a male split for these mutations.
it doesnt matter what colour as opaline and cinnamon can occur in any colours and shades

if your male is opaline and cinnamon you will get male and female cinnamon opaline chicks .
if the male is split only the females will be cinnamon opaline and i think the males will be split for both of these.

i also think that if the male is a pied budgie the chicks would be beautiful.

good luck with breeding in the future:)

Like miss parakeet said, both genes are sexlinked. you will need to find a opaline cinnamon male. Most likely you will get a shade of green bird unless your female is split for something else. Good luck.
